A true buddy,
not same day same ocean, a person that starts dive with you and finishes
the dive with you including decompression time. You training and
practice and/or use the same procedures. |
Diving, Boat |
Any dive
conducted from a boat (private or commercial) |
Diving, Cave |
A dive where
natural light is NOT visible to the diver at all times (this include
wrecks or cavern structures). Special training is required! |
Diving, Cavern |
A dive where
natural light is visible to the diver at all times (this include wrecks
or cavern structures). Special training is required! |
Diving, Recreational |
Any dive to depths less than
130 FSW and NO planned decompression. |

Any dive
conducted from the shore, not utilizing a boat. |

Helium Mixes: |
Helium mixes are any gas
mixture with some helium content. The helium is used to reduce the
narcotic affect of the nitrogen in the mix.
- HeliAir: A mixture of Helium and air as the top off gas (no
additional oxygen is added). Resulting mix has a FO2 of less than .21
(21%).
- HeliOx: Any gas mixture of Oxygen and Helium only.
- NormOx: A gas mixture with a FO2 of approximately .21 (21%)
Oxygen.
- Trimix: A typical gas mixture of O2/HE/N2 were Oxygen, Helium,
and Nitrogen are blended together to achieve the desired mixture or
percentage. The O2 content is greater than that which could achieved
using a HeliAir mixing technique. The resulting mix has a FO2 of less
than .21 (21%)
- TriOx: A typical gas mixture of O2/HE/N2 were Oxygen, Helium,
and Nitrogen are blended together to achieve the desired mixture or
percentage. The resulting mix has a FO2 of greater than .21 (21%). This
mixture is generally used within the recreational depth limits to reduce
the narcotic affects of Nitrogen and the benefits of Helium in any mix. |
